What’s New¶
This version takes care of fixing various issues we either faced ourselves or that were reported by users. Do not hesitate to report any issue you may find while using the application to your DLBM, we will do our best to fix it as soon as possible.
Other Changes¶
In addition, a few bugs have been squashed and minor enhancements integrated:
when searching for members, clearing the search field and then starting to type again for another search, the previous search results would still be shown until at least 3 characters would be typed and the new search would actually be performed and completed; now the previous search results are cleared as soon as the search field is cleared;
it was not possible to filter clubs by country due to a wrong internal configuration when decoding the list of countries from the server; this is now fixed;
the setting to enable or disable the availability of WhatsApp on your device to contact members directly from LionsBase mobile application was reset to its default value (enabled) whenever you would log out; this was annoying as the setting should have been persistent; this is now fixed;
7 years ago, back in Version 5.0.0, we introduced a way to use an external barcode scanner in place of the built-in camera of your device; this was useful for a while but has become obsolete and totally useless as spotted on the field for a few years now; therefore this feature has first been deprecated for over a year and is now removed altogether;
we were still relying on a custom implementation of the photo picker to let you select a photo from your device to use for your profile or your club. This custom implementation was necessary back in the days when we used Xamarin Forms as it did not provide a built-in photo picker. Now that we have fully migrated to .NET MAUI, we can use the built-in photo picker provided by .NET MAUI which is more reliable and better integrated with the underlying operating system; therefore the custom photo picker has been removed and replaced by the built-in one;
various internal libraries have been upgraded.
Note
From a technical standpoint, this version of the LionsBase mobile application is supposed to be compatible with iOS 14 and later and iPadOS 14 and later. However, we only have devices and simulators for iOS/iPadOS 18 and later. Since we cannot test the application on iOS/iPadOS 14, 15, 16 and 17, we cannot guarantee that it will work properly on these versions of iOS and iPadOS and you are advised to upgrade your device to iOS/iPadOS 18 or later if you want to use this version of the LionsBase mobile application. iOS 18 is supported on devices as old as the iPhone 11, from 6 years ago, and iPadOS 18 on devices as old as the ones sold back in 2018.
