It’s a combined release of features and bug fixes that provides quick access to some handy international resources, lets you efficiently filter and search for previous social activities, and fixes a few remaining bugs.
What’s New¶
Lions International¶
A new menu item has been added to the drawer menu: “Lions International”. This menu item provides a few official international links to the members:

We think that having a few official international links is helpful for the members on a daily basis. It should help them to better understand the organization and its structure and who are their international officers or some info about the global causes of the association.
Please note that it is not planned to relate to individual Multiple District website pages (in addition to the LCI website).
Other Changes¶
In addition, a few bugs have been squashed and minor enhancements integrated:
enhanced some translations;
the application would hang when changing the source of news articles; this has been fixed;
depending on the event and associated questions, sometimes a member would not be able to edit guest registrations on their behalf (nothing would happen when tapping on their name); this has been fixed;
subscribing to your own event feed was not working; this problem has been solved;
the application settings have been totally forgotten when migrating from the old framework to the new one; this has been fixed;
since the very first version of this application, we relied on a third-party library to interact with the JSON API of LionsBase. Nowadays and although this library is still maintained, we have decided to replace it with the native .NET library provided by Microsoft;
the icons associated to social activities have been slightly enlarged;
the icon associated to a “committee” has been changed and now uses the same icon as the one used to represent “members” (a group of people); this makes it easier to understand the icon and its purpose and removes one useless icon;
various internal libraries have been upgraded.
Footnotes
- 1
App Store Connect from Apple Inc. explains that compatible iOS apps are automatically published on the App Store on Apple Vision Pro unless we explicitly opt out. We have not opted out and therefore the LionsBase mobile application is available on Apple Vision Pro, although we did not have the opportunity so far to test it. Do not hesitate to drop us a message if you have tested it; we would be happy to hear from you!
Here is a screenshot of the simulator of the Apple Vision Pro running the LionsBase mobile application:

Social Activities¶
The more social activities are registered in LionsBase, the more difficult it becomes to keep track of which association got sponsored and whether it would make sense to sponsor them again.
To help members answer these questions, we have introduced a new filter to display only the social activities in relation to some filter criteria:
The filter term(s) you enter are matched against the title, the description, the category and the type of the social activities. The filter is case-insensitive and supports partial matches.
We are convinced that this new feature will help members to better understand the social activities of their club and to make better decisions when sponsoring associations.
New Icon for Childhood¶
The icon associated to childhood social activities has been updated to reflect the visual identity of Lions Clubs International:
The list introduced in version 8.0 and slightly updated in version 10.0 now looks as follows:
